Building a cross-border partner network fast—where do you find trustworthy global collaborators?

I organize partnerships and collaborations for brands, and right now I’m focused on something specific: how do you actually identify and vet cross-border partners quickly without wasting months on introductions that don’t pan out?

I’ve got Russian brands that want to work with US-based experts and other international collaborators, but the traditional approach (LinkedIn cold messages, conference networking) is slow. Meanwhile, the brands are on timelines.

What I’m realizing is that there must be communities or professional hubs where this already happens—where US-based marketers, agencies, and creators are actively looking for partnership opportunities with Russian-founded brands. But I don’t know how to tap into those networks efficiently.

I’m curious: how do people actually find trustworthy cross-border collaborators? Is it through specific communities, platforms, or is it still mostly word-of-mouth and warm intros? And when you do find someone, what’s your actual vetting process to make sure they’re not just collecting contacts but actually capable of delivering?

How did you build your first cross-border partnership, and would you do it differently now?
