I’ve been thinking about the future of influencer marketing strategy, and there’s this idea that keeps coming up: AI + human expertise is better than either one alone.
But everyone says that, right? It sounds good. In practice, though, I’m struggling with how to actually operationalize it.
I’ve seen it go two ways:
Bad version: You run AI analysis, it spits out recommendations, humans either blindly trust it or blindly reject it. No real collaboration, just friction.
Good version (I think): AI handles the analysis at scale—it finds patterns, flags anomalies, surfaces opportunities. Humans provide context, make judgment calls on edge cases, and iterate based on real-world feedback.
I’m trying to build toward the second version, but I’m stuck on: how do you actually structure this collaboration so it doesn’t become a bottleneck?
Like, if I have AI recommending 50 influencers based on audience overlap and engagement patterns, I can’t have a human manually review all 50. But if I only have humans review the top 5, am I missing good opportunities?
And for something like predictive analytics for campaign performance—AI can model historical patterns, but humans know context that doesn’t fit neatly into the data. How do you weight both?
I think the answer involves better questions from humans and clearer signals from AI—AI doesn’t just say “yes/no,” it says “here’s what I know, here’s where I’m uncertain, here’s what I don’t have data for.”
But I’m curious how this actually works for other people.
