We’re at a point where we’ve run some creator collaborations in both markets, and I’m trying to figure out which metrics actually matter and which ones I should basically ignore because they’re context-dependent.
Like, I can look at engagement rates, but those are going to be completely different US engagement norms on TikTok might be 8%, while in Russia it might be 2%. Does that mean our US campaign is crushing it, or am I just comparing apples to oranges?
Same with conversion. A Russian relocation lead might take weeks to decide, while a US prospect might be ready to commit in days. So if I’m benchmarking CAC or conversion rate directly across markets, I’m probably making decisions on bad data.
I think what I really need is a framework for: what data actually transfers between markets, and what has to be interpreted completely differently?
Have any of you tried to benchmark cross-market campaigns and figured out which metrics are actually useful for comparison? Or did you find that the benchmarks look so different that you basically had to treat each market like its own thing?
I’m also wondering if there’s value in using a knowledge-exchange resource that has cross-border campaign data—like, actual case studies from other people who’ve done this relocation expansion thing. Right now I feel like I’m inventing the wheel with each decision.
