I’m managing a project right now where we’re connecting a Russian brand with three US-based UGC creators. The challenge isn’t finding the creators—it’s making sure everyone’s working from the same playbook.
We created a brief, sent it over, and immediately got questions like: “What do you mean by ‘authentic’?” and “How hard should we pitch the product?” These aren’t stupid questions. It’s just that Russian marketing culture and American marketing culture have very different defaults on what those things mean.
I’ve started wondering: Is this something other people solve by just… having lots of calls? Or are there actual systems that help standardize briefs across languages and markets?
I heard there’s something on the hub about bilingual briefs and US-expert insights being incorporated into collaboration setups. If that’s real, how does it actually work? Does someone review your brief and suggest changes? Or is it more of a template system?
I’m curious what happens after the brief is locked—how do you keep alignment during production? Do people set up regular check-ins, use shared docs, embed someone from the brand in the creative process? What’s been the difference between projects that ran smoothly versus ones that turned into a coordination nightmare halfway through?
