Six months ago, I was drowning. We run UGC campaigns in both Russia and the US, and every time results came in, I’d spend days pulling data from different sources, trying to figure out what worked and what didn’t. Different platforms, different metrics, different creator economics in each market. Zero consistency.
The breaking point came when we ran parallel campaigns—same product, same brief, different creators in each market. Results came back and they told completely opposite stories. We thought it meant something was deeply wrong with our strategy. Turns out, we just didn’t have a clear framework for reading the results.
So I started documenting what I learned. I pulled case studies from the platform’s global creator community—looking at how other brands analyzed UGC performance. I noticed something: the best-performing brands weren’t using the same metrics in both markets. They were asking different questions.
In Russia, the questions were: How authentic is the content? Is the creator’s audience aligned with our brand values? What’s the comment quality? In the US, the focus was: Does this convert? What’s the cost-per-acquisition looking like?
I built a simple matrix. For each market, I mapped out: (1) what “good” engagement looks like, (2) which metrics predict conversion, (3) what content themes resonate. Then I created a standardized analysis template that respects these differences but still lets me compare across markets.
Now when a campaign finishes, I run the data through my template, and I get a clear answer: what worked, why, and what to do differently next time. It takes a fraction of the time it used to.
